Laguna Parón is the largest lake in the Cordillera Blanca, situated along the the Peruvian Andes. It’s located within the borders of the Huascarán National Park, just 32 km east from the city Caraz at an altitude of 4,185 m above sea level.

The laguna is surrounded by several snow peaks in a region that is considered to be is one of the most popular areas for climbing in all of Peru. The high concentration of dissolved lime gives the water of Laguna Parón a turquoise color.

It is a popular day hike for travelers in the region and is often reached by mountain bike. If desired, it is possible to camp on the west and east shores of Laguna Parón. From the east end, an easy walk gives way to a beautiful view of Mount Artesonraju (the Paramount Picture’s logo).
