Experience – Bodega Alta Vista – Lujan de Cuyo, Mendoza, Argentina.

Originally built in 1899, the historic Alta Vista winery was restored and opened to the public in 2003. The winery is owned by the French family D’Aulan, which produces wine in several of the top wine-growing regions around the world, including France and Argentina. In Argentina the family is focused on achieving the greatest quality Malbec and Torrontés possible, combining French savoir with the passion of Argentina.

The D’Aulan Family has five plots of land spread over Luján de Cuyo, Uco Valley and Cafayate in Salta, planted with more than 80 year old vineyards, which provide the perfect conditions for growing high quality grapes: cold weather, large thermal amplitudes, humidity, light and clay loam soils in some cases and in the higher areas sandy loam soils.

The winery houses small volume tanks, which allow the team to focus on a highly qualitative winemaking process. Alta Vista has beautiful underground cellar that houses its barrels of aging wine, a key element in the development of reserve wines, which are aged for a long time in French oak barrels. The wines are aged from three to 36 months before bottling. Alta Vista boasts more than 20 varietals of wine.
